Our editorial promise
DriveOn Protection publishes education about vehicle service contracts, factory warranties, repair risk, claims, maintenance, and car ownership. We are also a provider, so we have an obligation to make that commercial interest obvious. Our articles may link to a DriveOn quote or product page. General education does not override, enlarge, or replace any contract.
How topics are selected
We prioritize questions people ask when they are comparing financial risk, reading a contract, dealing with a repair, or deciding whether protection fits. We combine broad search demand with customer questions and gaps where existing answers are vague, overly promotional, or disconnected from claim-time reality. We do not publish separate thin pages for trivial wording variations.
Research and sourcing
For general consumer and regulatory facts, we prefer primary sources such as the Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, state regulators, automakers, and original contract documents. Material factual claims in our decision guides link to the relevant sources. Examples and calculations are labeled as examples.
Product statements
Statements about DriveOn are checked against current customer-facing product and claims materials. Coverage always depends on the contract, vehicle eligibility, exclusions, maintenance history where relevant, and claim circumstances. If a summary conflicts with a contract, the contract controls.
Writing and review
The DriveOn Protection Editorial Team prepares and reviews articles for clarity, factual support, useful decision context, and consistency with product terms. We use plain language, show tradeoffs, and include situations where buying protection may not be the right choice. Tools may assist research, outlining, or quality checks, but publication requires human editorial judgment and review.
Updates and corrections
Articles show a published or reviewed date. We update content when consumer guidance, product facts, or the decision context materially changes. If you spot an error or an unclear statement, use our contact and support page and identify the article. We investigate specific correction requests and update the page when warranted.
What our articles are not
Our content is general education, not legal, tax, financial, or repair advice. Warranty and service-contract rules can vary by state and by agreement. For a vehicle problem, use a qualified repair facility. For legal rights, consult the relevant regulator or a qualified professional.
