Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to common DriveOn questions.

DriveOn works best when customers understand the category before they buy. This page keeps the answers clear on coverage, claims, eligibility, repair shops, transfer, and cancellation.

Is DriveOn Protection a manufacturer warranty?

No. DriveOn Protection is a vehicle service contract. It is optional and should not be presented as required for financing.

Is DriveOn Protection required to get approved for financing?

No. It is optional.

How does DriveOn Protection keep things simple?

DriveOn is built around two top-tier protection paths: one for fuel-powered vehicles and one for electric vehicles. The idea is to reduce menu fatigue and keep the conversation focused on fit, value, and claims clarity.

What does exclusionary-style coverage mean?

It means coverage is framed broadly, with the contract identifying what is excluded rather than relying only on a narrow named-parts list.

What kinds of repairs does DriveOn Protection help with?

Depending on the vehicle and contract path, it can help with major mechanical and electrical repair exposure involving systems such as engine, transmission, drivetrain, steering, suspension, climate control, electronics, and EV-specific systems where applicable.

Does it cover routine maintenance?

No. Maintenance still matters, but maintenance is not the same as breakdown coverage.

Can I use my own repair shop?

You may use a licensed repair facility in the U.S. The repair facility should contact the claims line before major repair work begins.

Does DriveOn Protection approve every claim?

No. Coverage depends on the contract terms, vehicle eligibility, and claim circumstances.

What if my vehicle is not drivable?

Roadside assistance can help tow the vehicle to a repair facility.

Does DriveOn include rental reimbursement?

Rental car reimbursement can be included during covered repairs, subject to contract terms and limits.

What is trip interruption?

Trip interruption support can apply when a covered repair leaves the vehicle inoperable overnight away from home, subject to the contract terms.

Can I transfer the contract if I sell my vehicle?

Transfer support is available for qualifying private-party sales, subject to the contract terms and any applicable fee.

Can I cancel the contract later?

Yes. Free-look cancellation and later pro-rated cancellation rights can apply under the contract and applicable rules.

What affects eligibility?

Vehicle year, mileage, propulsion type, usage, condition, warning lights, title history, and modifications can all affect fit or eligibility.

Do hybrids follow the fuel path or the EV path?

Hybrid and plug-in hybrid handling should be confirmed against the current supported eligibility source for the exact vehicle. The safest next step is to provide the exact propulsion type and vehicle details before making a recommendation.
